Signing in to the Veracross Parent Portal

Veracross is our school information system. Use the Parent Portal to see grades and schedules, update your contact information, re-enroll, and pay tuition. It replaced PowerSchool, so your old PowerSchool password won't work here.

Where to sign in

Go to portals.veracross.com/vcschools and bookmark it.

  • Parents: your username is usually firstname.lastname, including the period (for example, jane.smith).
  • Students: enter your school email address, then choose Sign in with Google and use your school password.

First time? Look for the Welcome email

New parents get a Welcome email from Veracross with a link to set up a password. It's sent automatically, so it often lands in Spam or Junk. Check there first.

If you still can't find it, submit a ticket and we'll send it again.

Forgot your password?

  1. On the sign-in page, click Can't access your account?
  2. Enter the email address the school has on file for you.
  3. Open the reset email (check Spam) and use the link right away. Reset links expire.

Error: "multiple user accounts are associated with this email address"

This happens when two parents share the same email address. Veracross can't tell which account to reset, so it won't send the email.

Submit a ticket and tell us which you'd prefer:

  • Give each parent their own email address. Send us the second address.
  • Keep one login for the household. We'll remove the shared email from one parent's account.

Your password resets but won't stay reset

If you reset your password and get asked to reset again right away, the problem is usually your web browser:

  1. Close all browser windows and try again.
  2. Try a different browser, such as Chrome, Safari, or Edge.
  3. Clear your browser's cache and cookies.

Using the mobile app

  • In the App Store or Google Play, search for Valley Christian School System. Searching "Veracross" finds the wrong app.
  • The app uses the same username and password as the portal. Tap Calendar to get the sign-in screen.
  • The app has fewer features than the website. For grades, re-enrollment, and payments, use the Parent Portal in your browser. It works well on phones.

Common questions

Is this the same as Canvas?
No. Canvas is where teachers post assignments, and it has its own sign-in: vcschools.instructure.com. Parents sign in to Canvas with their email address. See Canvas Help for Parents.

How do I add someone who can pick up my child?
In the Parent Portal, click Update Household Profile, then Contacts for My Children.

I only see one of my children.
Submit a ticket with all of your children's names. Sometimes siblings end up on separate household accounts, and we can combine them.

Is this the right school?
This help center is for Valley Christian Schools in Cerritos, CA. Valley Christian in San Jose uses different websites, such as learn.vcs.net. If you don't recognize the sites in this article, check which school your child attends.
